racket in Goa after the sensational Freddy Peats
paedophile case? |

The
Colva Police arrested
Giorgio Lazini an Italian National for allegedly having
vaginal and anal sex with a 10 year old girl last week.
The Police recovered two laptops and some material from
the house where Giorgio was staying. The material on the
laptops is presently under scrutiny. The vaginal swabs
(fluid in vagina) have been sent to the Central Forensic
laboratory in Hyderabad to determine traces of semen.
Inquiries are also on to ascertain if this is a part of a
large Pedophile racket. Giorgio is now in police custody
at Hospicio Hospital, Margao where he was shifted after
complaining of Prostrate and urinary problems.
Giorgio’s maid of several
years Sheela Venkathi is also in Police custody for
abetting the crime. Sheela admits of having brought the
victim to Giorgio but points out that she too was sexually
exploited by Giorgio when he had procured her as a minor
some years ago. And now that she was an adult, Giorgio no
longer required her since his quest is only for minor
children. Giorgio had sponsored Sheela’s brother Ravi’s
education and even bought agricultural land, built a house
and purchased cattle for the Sheela’s family in Karnataka.
Giorgio, a regularly visitor
to Goa for the past several years is said to have been
extremely talented and a fishing wizard. He is said to
have invented various fishing material. Recently, a
Japanese firm is believed to have had a tie up with
Giorgio for an equivalent of Rs one crore to market one of
his many inventions.
“It’s the fishing genius in
him which compelled me to float a fishing partnership firm
ten months ago” says a disgusted Minguel Rodrigues a
restaurant owner from Benaulim who is also caught in the
controversy. “Even in my wildest dreams, I did not expect
Giorgio to do such a dastardly act” adds Minguel who is a
fishing freak himself. “Henceforth I will have nothing to
do with Giorgio and now it’s my moral and civic duty to
assist the investigating authorities whenever and wherever
required” remarks Minguel firmly.
Police are confident of
grabbing more of Giorgio’s type. It is alleged that an
organized racket of supplying narcotics, Russian
prostitutes and children to Peadophiles is operational
from a base in Colva which extends right up to Cavellosim.
These kingpins have strong political clout due to which
their activities continue unhindered.
Lamanis (beach hawkers) are the main
targets for the Child Sex racket. Giorgio’s maid Sheela
Venkathi and the victim are both lamanis. The majority of
deals are said to be done on the beach front where the
lamanis linger. Thanks to Tourism Dept and Tourism Police
whose job appears to restricted only to confiscating beach
beds and umbrellas of Goan shack owners. There is a lot of
talk though of coming down heavily on this racket. But
till such a time, for the Paedophiles, Goa is going to be
a haven.
